Job description

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Dairy. Livestock. Tasks: Develop specific plans to prioritize. Diagnose livestock health issues. Direct farm feed inventory activities . Direct farm grooming activities . Handling animals. Monitor the calving process. Monitoring animal health. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly . Treat livestock health issues. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Formulate feeding program. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Select livestock for sale. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Maintain work records and logs. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 3-4 people. 1 to 2 people. Area of specialization: Agricultural livestock service. Dairy cattle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail.
