Early childhood educator (ECE)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role requires effective communication skills, leadership abilities, and a love for educating young minds. Our Centre strives to be inclusive and offers a high quality environment that supports and facilitates optimal development of the whole child. Experience working or volunteering in Licensed child care in Nova Scotia will be considered an asset. *Responsibilities* * Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning and development in various domains. * Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity. * Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships and support child development. * Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents regarding their child's growth. * Lead classroom activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. * Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning. * Collaborate with other educators to enhance the educational experience for all students. * Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education through professional development opportunities. *Requirements* * Early Childhood Educator certification. *Must have a level 1, 2 or 3* * Current First Aid (CPR-B or C) certificate. * Ability to provide professional references. * Experience working in a childcare or recreational setting. * Successful candidates will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector & Child Abuse Registry Check * Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices. * Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written) * Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively with others. * Ability to write clear reports and documentation regarding student progress. * A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth.
