*Berwick Home Hardware Building Centre* located in the Annapolis Valley is looking for a full time Cashier. * *The ideal candidate should possess the following strengths;* * Accurate * Excellent oral communication * Flexible * Team player * Analytical * Excellent customer service * Follow direction * Ability to take direction *Tasks pertinent to the Cashier position;* * Greet customers as they enter the store * Acknowledge customers as they leave the store * Ensure customers have a pleasant shopping experience * Participate in promotional activities * Operate cash register * Balance cash and totals * Scan items and tabulate total payment for goods and services provided * Process transactions involving money; credit cards/debit cards * Suggestive selling * Participate in stocking shelves on truck arrival days * Keep counter, cart, and foyer area swept and clean * Answer incoming calls and direct to appropriate department * Use price scanner, interact machine *Work Conditions and physical capabilities* * Fast paced environment * Work under pressure * Attention to detail * Standing for extended periods of time * Work in a team environment While previous experience is not required it would be beneficial to the position.
