Associate lawyer

*Job Overview* We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Lawyer to join our legal team. Our firm consists of three lawyers, one student, and support staff. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the firm's legal operations by appearing frequently in court conducting thorough research, drafting legal documents, and conducting negotiations with Crowns and judges. Your proactive approach and strong analytical skills will contribute to delivering exceptional legal services to our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity for legal professionals to develop their expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. *Duties* * Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents * Prepare and draft Charter applications and disclosure reviews * Maintain organized records of case materials, correspondence, and legal filings * Frequent interactions with clients and witnesses * Stay updated on current laws and regulations relevant to ongoing cases and practice areas *Requirements* * A law degree from an accredited institution with eligibility to practice * 2-5 years of criminal defence experience preferred * Strong research skills with proficiency in LexisNexis or similar legal research platforms * Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents * Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues critically and thoroughly * Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be organized * Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members and clients Join us to advance your legal career in a supportive environment that values your growth, dedication, and enthusiasm.
