Assistant manager - retail

Assistant Managers, under the direction of, or in the absence of the Manager, are responsible for the overall management of the store. Assistant Managers work in tandem with the store manager to ensure a smooth running operation with a view to motivating staff and improving sales. Assistant Managers are responsible for a number of specific departments and should have a broad knowledge of all departments and be able to assist the buyers in making key decisions regarding merchandise and stock control. Assistant Managers are involved with interviewing and hiring of new staff. They guide and motivate the staff in their daily duties and ensure they are trained for the appropriate positions.
