Job description
*About the Position* Westmount Estates is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and compassionate *Housekeeper* to join our team. The Housekeeper plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. The successful candidate will take pride in their work and understand the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness while treating our residents with dignity, respect, and compassion. *Key Responsibilities* * Clean and disinfect resident rooms, common areas, washrooms, offices, dining areas, and other designated areas. * Perform routine housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces. * Clean and maintain floors, furniture, fixtures, and other facility equipment as required. * Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures. * Properly use cleaning products, chemicals, and housekeeping equipment in accordance with safety procedures. * Follow infection prevention and control practices and established health and safety procedures. * Empty waste and recycling containers and dispose of materials appropriately. * Assist with maintaining adequate housekeeping supplies and report shortages to the appropriate supervisor. * Respond promptly to spills and other situations requiring immediate cleaning. * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. * Report maintenance concerns, hazards, damage, or other issues to management. * Interact respectfully and professionally with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers. * Assist with other housekeeping duties as assigned. *Qualifications and Skills* The ideal candidate will have: * Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, preferably in a healthcare, long-term care, or personal care home setting. * Knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfecting procedures is considered an asset. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. * Good organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. * Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving housekeeping equipment. * A positive, respectful, and compassionate attitude toward residents. * Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. *How to Apply* Interested candidates are invited to submit a resume and cover letter to: *Joy Boland* *Westmount Estates Retirement Residence* *Email:* manager@westmountestates.ca *Phone:* 709.388.4888 Westmount Estates Retirement Residence is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for our residents and employees.
