Job description

FUNCTION & DUTIES:Reporting to the Assistant Director General, the Assistant Director assists in the physical management and administrative operations of the schools. Main activities of the position include:Participate in the planning and implementation of the Board Strategic action plan;Hire, supervise and evaluate the Youth Sector Center Director;Ensure adherence to policies, regulations, contractual obligations, and organizational procedures.;Provide expertise to school administrators to promote the optimal management of the schools;Support or participate in the recruitment process of school staff;Verify that deliverables meet required standards of the Board;Participate in meetings, and committees with partners and stakeholders.Participate in the planning and preparation of the department annual budget;Provide support to schools with their School Success Plan;Assume any other responsibilities compatible with the function that may be assigned by the immediate superior. QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor?s degree in administration or in a relevant field.Eight (8) years of relevant experience with at least five (5) years in a management position.The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all the aforementioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the BoardREQUIREMENTS:Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (Inuktitut, English and French);Must be prepared for frequent travels throughout Nunavik;Excellent management and organizational skills in order to create an efficient work environment;Initiative;Excellent knowledge of MS Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word and Excel;Speaking Inuktitut is an asset;Knowledge of Nunavik and the Inuit culture is an asset.CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:Class 10* as per the KI working conditions of managers: from $116 551 to $155 396 annually depending on qualifications and experience.
