Job description

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. At heights. Confined spaces. Outdoors. Work setting: Industrial. Construction. Commercial. Various locations. Tasks: Clean work area. Sand, trim, grind or clean products into final form using hand tools. Screw, clip, glue, bond, weld or otherwise assemble parts and components to form final products. Cut, shape and fit materials to form parts and components. Supervise other workers. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Willing to travel regularly. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves. Mask. Ear plugs. Steel-toed safety boots.
