Regional District of East KootenayAdministrative AssistantCompetition Number: 2026-40Posting Scope: Internal/ExternalPosted Date: October 2, 2026Closing Date: October 16, 2026, 1:30 PM MST Job Location: Cranbrook Office (on-site)Department: Human Resources Employment Type: Every Friday + vacation and leave coverage as neededEmployment Length: Casual Salary: $31.21 per hour, Pay Grade DEmployee Group: Union - CUPE Local 2106Number of Vacancies: 1POSITION FUNCTIONUnder the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Administrative Assistant has responsibility for receptionist and cash handling duties and provides administrative and clerical support to the HR department.KEY DUTIES Acts as receptionist and cashier Provides administrative support to various departments, as assigned Processes all RDEK incoming and outgoing mail Performs other related duties Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office Suite. Engage with fellow employees, the public and outside agencies in a courteous manner. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of cash management systems. Maintain composure and find solutions when dealing with difficult customers.
