Job description
The Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society is looking for an *Administrative Assistant*. In this position, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Executive Director and the Solace Centre. This is a full time position 27.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. *What you will do:* · Answer, screen and transfer inbound phone calls · Receive and direct visitors and clients · Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system · Resolve administrative problems and inquiries · Prepare written responses to routine enquiries · Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for managers or supervisors · Prepare and modify documents, including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, brochures and emails · Prepare agendas and schedules for meetings · Record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings · Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence · Maintain office supply inventories · Coordinate and maintain records for staff, telephones, parking, and petty cash · Supervise and train reception volunteers · Other duties as required *Qualifications* · Post secondary training in office administration or related field · Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping · Excellent computer skills and knowledge of relevant software (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint) · Clear criminal record check *Skills Required:* · Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Able to work independently or as part of a team · Strong attention to detail and accuracy · Confidentiality in all matters · Have a respectful, friendly, and professional manner when dealing with the public, guests, family members and coworkers · Must have sensitivity and understanding of issues unique to hospice and palliative care · Able to use sound judgment when applying principles and policies We have a lot of great benefits to offer the right candidate including: · Training · 4 weeks paid vacation · 6.7% employer matched RRSP plan · Health and dental benefits · $250 Annual Health and Wellness Plan · Annual sick leave At the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
