Addictions Counsellor

1.0 FTE (37.5 hours/week). Hours of work will include daytime, evenings and weekends as scheduled. All locations. Current site: Westside DUTIES: Perform crisis intervention, assessment, counselling and case management; Work with people affected by mental illness, addictions, poverty, homelessness and other psycho-social factors; Screen, triage and develop recovery and case plan for clients with addictions using addictions assessment best practices, addictions treatment models, therapeutic methods, and harm reduction strategies; Monitor and assess withdrawal symptoms related to substance use in consultation with clients health care providers; Utilize addictions related community resources; Deliver workshops and lecture material to clients; Work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to ensure quality care is delivered within the c...
