THE OPPORTUNITY An opportunity for valuable growth and experience in finance and accounting ? to take responsibility and initiative to develop this new role. The objective is to maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. This position will work closely with the accounting clerks in Ponoka and Calgary and will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES * Full-cycle accounting including month-end close process * Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements * Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules including processing depreciation entries * Work closely with other teams to ensure accurate project reporting and related month-end accruals * Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements * Prepare weekly cash position statements and other reports as requested * Update and maintain accounting policies and procedures * Provide back-up support to other team members QUALIFICATIONS * 5-8 years related experience in a full-cycle accounting role * Familiarity with project accounting and payroll is an asset * Detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task effectively * Able to set priorities and efficiently utilize time-management skills while maintaining accuracy * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software * To take ownership of the results and to work to improve future results * Take initiative, advocate and exemplify teamwork, innovative thinking and problem solving WHY WORK AT SCOVAN? * You are looking to have a large impact at a growing company and work with a high-performance team on challenging problems that affect the world we live in * Opportunities to Grow & Learn ?
