*Job Opportunity: Veterinary Technician* *Hurontario Veterinary Hospital* *Location:* 1424 Hurontario St Mississauga *Part-Time to Full-Time Availability (with 4-day work week option if desired)* Hurontario Veterinary Hospital is a family owned and operated, 3 veterinarian practice dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-tailored care. We are currently seeking a motivated, compassionate, and reliable Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a family owned practice, we can focus on what really matters. * *Flexible Hours:* Part-time or full-time hours are available, with the option for a 4-day work week if desired. * *Competitive Compensation:* Salary is based on experience, with opportunities for growth. * *Comprehensive Benefits Package:* Includes medical, dental, vision, uniform allowance, pet care and pet food discounts. * *Mentorship & Continuing Education:* Receive hands-on mentorship from our full-time Registered Technicians and Veterinarians, along with opportunities for professional development. *Clinic Hours:* * Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM * Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM * Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (working 1-2 Saturday mornings per month required) *Key Responsibilities:* * Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. * Perform laboratory tests, including blood collection, urinalysis, cytology and other diagnostic procedures. * Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. * Prepare animals for surgery, perform anesthesia and recovery monitoring. * Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments. * Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventative health measures. * Provide compassionate care and support to both animals and their owners. *Qualifications:* * A degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent experience preferred. * Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting is required. * Knowledge of Avimark and Idexx software is an asset. * Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both pet owners and team members. * Ability to handle animals safely and with compassion in various situations. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping. *Join Our Team:* At Hurontario Veterinary Hospital, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care and building strong, trusting relationships with our patients and their families.
