Truck trailer mechanic

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect motor in operation. Road test motor vehicles . Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs . Perform scheduled maintenance service. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Area of specialization: Electrical and electronic system. Diesel engines. Brake system. Fuel and emission system. Engine repair and overhaul. Truck-trailer repair.
