Athabasca County is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced *Director of Infrastructure *to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of Athabasca County?s public works, utilities, parks, agricultural services, and other essential facilities within the municipality. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Infrastructure is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team contributing to a positive corporate Culture and facilitating organization wide planning and project delivery. *Key Responsibilities:* * Help develop, champion, and model the County?s safety program in a positive and proactive manner. * Collaborate effectively with the senior management and colleagues to address issues constructively, foster open and respectful communication, and actively contribute to organization-wide planning, strategic initiatives, group discussions, decision-making, and the achievement of corporate priorities. * Provide strong and effective leadership, direction, coaching, and mentoring to personnel within the Infrastructure Department (including: Agricultural Services, Parks and Facilities, and Public Works). * Establish clear expectations, accountabilities, and performance standards, and support employees in achieving departmental and organizational objectives. * Oversee the implementation of infrastructure projects, including the construction, renovation, or maintenance of roads, bridges, county buildings, utilities, and other essential facilities. * Oversee the County?s gravel program through the management of current gravel pits and inventory. Lead in the development of future gravel sources through coordinating crushing programs and/or developing new gravel sources. * Develop and implement proactive maintenance and asset management programs to ensure the longevity, reliability, safety, and optimal performance of the County?s infrastructure assets. * Prepare and manage the department?s budget, supported by well-developed business cases that identify operational needs, priorities, costs, risks, and expected outcomes. * Support Council and Administration through agenda planning, preparation of Requests for Decisions and reports, and providing strategic input into the County?s priorities and direction. * Stay updated on relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to infrastructure development; ensure that projects adhere to legal and safety requirements, to include public awareness, particularly on projects or changes in policy that will directly affect on-site residents or differ
