Job description
ADR Chambers is one of Canada's largest providers of arbitration, mediation and investigation services. We are hiring a lawyer to lead aiADR, its artificial intelligence dispute resolution division.aiADR builds AI tools for dispute resolution, drawing on ADRC's thirty years of experience and its own case history. There are three products today: aiADR Arbitration, which helps resolve commercial two party written disputes with human oversight; aiADR Resolution at Scale, for organizations that handle large volumes of repetitive disputes; and the aiADR Mediation Helper Tool, which supports mediators in preparing for and conducting mediations. The tools are already in use. The next stage of growth is taking them to more clients and developing them further, and the person in this role will lead that work. This is a role with broad scope. The Director of aiADR will be responsible for business development, client relationships, and overseeing the development of the products alongside the technology team. The Director will also work closely with other Divisions at ADR Chambers to ensure their work is integrated and highly functional across the organization. We are looking for a lawyer who is keen to work with legal AI and to grow a business. The candidate should have: ? a JD or LLB; experience in litigation, arbitration or dispute resolution is an asset but is not required ? a genuine interest in working with legal AI and comfort with the technical people who build it ? strong public speaking skills and an enjoyment of networking and meeting new people ? a desire to do business development, including building client relationships and opening new markets ? an interest in both operating and growing the business The role is full-time and hybrid, combining time in our Toronto office with remote work. Salary is $110,000, with a potential bonus based on the success of aiADR.
