Retail sales associate

The Sales Associate contributes to the daily success of Back To Life by creating an exceptional guest experience and helping maintain a welcoming, organized, attractive and customer-ready store. As a social enterprise of Break Free Outreach Ministries Inc., Back To Life exists for more than retail sales. Revenue generated through the store helps support Break Free's programs and services, while the store also creates opportunities for employment, training and skill development. The Sales Associate is expected to take ownership of the guest experience and store environment, demonstrate initiative in daily operations, and contribute to a team culture characterized by excellence, integrity, compassion, stewardship and genuine care for people. - Warmly welcome and acknowledge every guest.- Provide friendly, attentive and respectful assistance without being intrusive.- Help guests locate merchandise and respond to questions accurately and courteously.- Build genuine relationships with regular guests while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.- Accurately process purchases through the approved Point-of-Sale system.- Verify merchandise and pricing before completing transactions.- Process approved methods of payment and provide receipts.- Follow established cash-handling, discount, gift card and sales procedures.- Protect guest payment information and confidentiality- Maintain attractive, organized and easy-to-shop merchandise displays.- Straighten racks, refold clothing and return misplaced merchandise throughout the day.- Maintain appropriate spacing and organization of clothing, footwear, accessories, housewares and home dcor.- Replenish merchandise as required.- Assist with seasonal, promotional and featured displays.- Help create thoughtful displays that encourage guests to discover merchandise and envision items in their homes or wardrobes.-Receive processed inventory from the Donation & Sorting Centre.
