Job description
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Remote location. Tasks: Conduct municipal and regional traffic studies. Monitor air, water and soil quality. Plan and design water and waste management systems. Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work. Conduct site visits to gather relevant information . Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Develop construction specifications and procedures. Establish and monitor construction work schedules. Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work. Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects. Provide customer service. Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Offer mentoring. Supervision: 5-10 people. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. SharePoint. MS Excel. Area of work experience: Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Installation, maintenance and inspection of equipment or facilities. Purchasing, procurement and contracts. Project management. Waste management. Management. Construction specialization: Urban planning. Transportation specialization: Roads and highways. Port and harbour. Airport. Municipal specialization: Sewers and sewage treatment. Storm drainage and control. Water control system and structures. Area of specialization: Municipal or urban. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is not available. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
