Job description
At Pioneer Craftsmen, we believe a successful renovation is built on a foundation of trust and a seamless client experience. We are expanding our creative design team to better guide our clients through the design, selection, and residential renovation journey. Our Designers are more than people who create beautiful spaces. They are also trusted guides, creative problem-solvers, and the crucial link between a client's vision and our team's ability to build it with confidence. Our Designers embody our service-first mindset, ensuring every client feels supported and informed from concept through construction. *What You'll Do* * *Serve as the Client's Trusted Guide:* Lead homeowners through our design process, taking the time to deeply understand their vision, needs, and lifestyle to develop practical and thoughtful renovation solutions. * *Translate Vision into Reality:* Develop accurate, detailed floor plans, elevations, and construction-ready documents that balance design, function, and budget. * *Empower Confident Decisions:* Prepare compelling design packages, 3D renderings, and material selections that help clients visualize the outcome and make informed choices with clarity and confidence. * *Bridge Design and Construction:* Collaborate closely with project managers, carpenters, and trade partners to ensure design intent is translated flawlessly. This includes coordinating design specific quotations, takeoffs, and producing hand off to estimating packages for estimating to maintain project alignment. * *Own the Details:* Take full ownership of design deliverables, timelines, and specifications, ensuring every project is set up for a smooth transition from the design phase into construction. * *Build Lasting Relationships:* Foster strong, positive relationships with clients, vendors, and the internal team, recognizing that every interaction is an opportunity to build trust and demonstrate our commitment to service. *What We're Looking For* * *Experience:* 3+ years in residential interior design, with direct experience in renovation or construction projects. * *Technical Proficiency:* Confidence in producing detailed construction drawings. Proficiency in Chief Architect is strongly preferred, but experience with equivalent CAD software will be considered. * *Construction Acumen:* A solid understanding of residential construction, building codes, and how design decisions impact feasibility and budget. * *Humble Confidence:* You can stand behind your design decisions and make expert recommendations while also knowing when to listen, collaborate, and adapt. You are comfortable receiving feedback and asking questions. * *A Passion for Process:* You have a practical approach to design that considers aesthetics, functionality, and budget, and you are eager to help clients move forward through a structured, supportive process. * *Exceptional Communication:* Strong interpersonal skills are essential. You can communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse range of people, including homeowners, trades, and suppliers. * *Meticulous and Proactive:* You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to solving problems before they arise. *Why Join Pioneer Craftsmen?* We are a team that values craftsmanship, integrity, and the client experience above all else. You will be part of a collaborative environment where your contributions to our standards, processes, and culture are valued. We are committed to continuous improvement and supporting our team's professional growth. If you are a creative and empathetic designer who finds satisfaction in guiding clients through a seamless renovation journey, we would love to hear from you.
