Position #: 9011569 Expected Start Date: June 03, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Wilkie Health Centre City/Town: Wilkie Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.71 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Number of Hours per Rotation: 159.04 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: EMS Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education - Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses - Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training - Current CPR certification - Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) - International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies - Listening skills - Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities - Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions - Ability to work independently and as a member of a team - Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to exhibit situational awareness - Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis - Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care - Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. - Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations - Ability to be resilient - Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively - Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) - Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice - Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity - Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Other Information - Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level - Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
