Job description

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Operate cash register. Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments. Scan items. Tabulate total payment for goods or services required. Receive payment for goods or services. Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales. Suggestive selling. Stock shelves and clean counter area. Greet customers. Wrap or place merchandise in bags. Provide customer service. Monitor all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary. Participate in promotional activities. Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Are you available to start on the date listed in the job posting?. Employment terms options: Early morning. Evening. Shift. Morning. Night. Experience: No experience (will train). Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment. Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people. Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers .
