Job description
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: All weather conditions. Outdoors. Tasks: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse. Empty trash cans and other waste containers. Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings. Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment. Perform minor repairs on appliances. Perform safety and security checks. Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures. Work with minimal supervision. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. Weed, prune and trim trees and plants. Remove litter and garbage. Cut grass. Rake and collect refuse. Type of heavy equipment operated: Bobcats. Area of work experience: Cleaning. Production. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Equipment: Power tools. Power lawn mowers.
