Job description
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Dirty. Noisy. Tasks: Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect motor in operation. Road test motor vehicles . Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs . Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Provide customer service. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Area of specialization: Diesel engines. Diagnostics. Alignment, steering and suspension. Brake system. Standard transmission. Engine repair and overhaul. Collision repair. Frame straightening. Plastics repair. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate.
